Father,
One year has gone
And another has come
We look back and see a mixture
Of good things and bad things
Maybe the bad sticks out a little too much
More than it should
And so we make resolutions
We have our self improvement projects
Exercise, read more.....eat less bacon
And these are good things...well some of them
But prior to any of that
Help us to see what is true, always already true
Which is that your disposition towards us is unchanging love
That you are for us
We don't need to do stuff in order to get you to sort of change your mind about us
We mostly need to see
We need to see you
It's hard to do sometimes
Help us to see you this year God
